Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about my work, thinking, and approach.

What's the focus of your writing?

I write about first-principles thinking, productivity and workflow optimization, and what it takes to build things in public. My goal is to share mental models and frameworks that might be useful to others.

How often do you publish new posts?

I aim for one substantive post per month, though the frequency varies based on what I'm working on. Quality over quantity is my approach—I'd rather publish one thoughtful post than multiple low-effort pieces.

Can I use your ideas or quotes?

Absolutely! If something resonates with you, feel free to use it, share it, or build on it. Just give attribution when possible. I believe ideas are meant to be shared and improved upon.

How can I contact you?

The best way is to reach out on Twitter/X or LinkedIn. I try to respond to genuine messages and questions. You can find links in the footer of this site.

Do you take consulting or collaboration opportunities?

I'm open to the right opportunities—whether that's writing projects, speaking engagements, or collaborations with people thinking about similar problems. Reach out with details about what you have in mind.

What tools do you use to build this site?

This site is built with Astro, a modern static site builder, and styled with Tailwind CSS. Posts are written in Markdown. The source code practices the philosophy of simplicity and static generation—no databases or complex infrastructure needed.

Can I subscribe to your posts?

Currently, the best way to stay updated is to follow me on Twitter/X or check back on the blog regularly. I'm considering adding an email newsletter in the future—follow me for announcements if that interests you.

What's your philosophy on productivity?

I believe productivity is about intentionality, not optimization. It's about understanding what actually matters to you and removing friction around those things. The best productivity tool is one that gets out of your way and lets you focus on what you care about.

What inspired you to start this blog?

I started this blog as a way to think out loud and document my learning process. Writing forces clarity—it's one of the best ways to test whether I actually understand something. I also wanted to share frameworks and mental models that have been useful to me, in hopes they might help others navigate similar challenges.

What's your approach to learning new things?

I learn through a combination of reading, building, and teaching. I usually start with first principles— understanding the fundamentals before diving into specifics. Then I experiment by building something, which often reveals gaps in my understanding. Finally, I try to teach or explain what I've learned, which is the ultimate test of comprehension.

Do you have recommendations for books or resources?

I have a dedicated tools page where I share resources that have been valuable to me. Beyond that, my recommendations vary based on what someone is trying to learn or accomplish. Feel free to reach out with a specific interest, and I'm happy to suggest something.

How do you approach decision-making?

I use first-principles thinking to break down complex decisions. I ask: What do I know for certain? What are my assumptions? What would the best-case and worst-case scenarios look like? I also try to separate the signal from the noise—focusing on what actually matters rather than getting caught up in details that don't impact the outcome.

What's the "Now" page about?

The Now page is inspired by Derek Sivers' concept— it's a snapshot of what I'm focused on right now. Rather than an outdated biography, it answers: "What are you working on?" and "What's on your mind?" It gets updated regularly and gives you a window into what's happening in my world at any given time.

Do you have any side projects or experiments?

Always! I'm constantly experimenting with new ideas, tools, and approaches. Some projects become full-fledged endeavors, while others are quick experiments to test a hypothesis. I document some of these on the blog or in my Now page. If you're curious about what I'm building, feel free to ask— I love talking about work in progress.

What's your take on AI and technology trends?

I'm thoughtful about technology adoption—enthusiasm for innovation balanced with skepticism about hype. I believe the best technological solutions are those that solve real problems and amplify human capability rather than replace it. I try to understand the implications of new tech before jumping on trends, and I apply the same first-principles thinking to emerging fields like AI.
